The stormwater run off from the roof is collected in the in-ground catch pit and is stored and recycled for re-use in the gardens and other non-potable applications throughout the station. The pit which runs the length of the building is one metre in depth. For occupational health and safety requirements the top of the pit was designed with a protective safety mesh.
