A Planter Box used as a Retaining Wall & Stormwater Retention Tank
The purpose of the planter/retaining wall is to provide adequate support for the unstable sandstone wall and at the same time provide some beautification (garden beds) along the front of the building. The soil in the planter box also provides mass and structural stability to the retaining wall.
The space inside the planter box has also been used to provide on-site stormwater detention and re-use capability.
