The project was to design two boiler support structures to be fabricated and installed in Thailand. The photo shows one of the boilers (fabricated in Australia) being loaded onto the ship for transportation to Sriracha, Thailand. The boiler is a fragile structure which required a separate strong and stiff temporary support frame for shipping. As specified by the client, a lateral load factor of twice the dead load of the boiler was used to calculate shipping loads on the temporary support frame.
